.....::::: COUNT THE COST BEFORE YOU CARRY THE CROSS :::::.....

Yesterday night I had the honor of attending an awesome Bible Study at The Universal Evangelical Center of Montreal (Centre Évangélique Universelle de Montréal), and the pastor of that church, my friend Reverend Caleb Barthelus. The message was too deep so I had to share. The words that keep hitting me were: "Are you sure?"
So many of us claim to follow Jesus but still have a foot or hand on the old things. To carry the cross is to leave behind what God says and be devoted. Are you? Did you count the cost before you made your decision? Will you abandon the Christian life after a little while because you did not count the cost of commitment to Jesus? You may face loss of social status or wealth. Some may have to give up control over money, time and their career. You may be hated by friends, family and even put to death like in some countries. Jesus wants total dedication, not half heart commitment. We can't follow Him selectively. What have you left behind to move forward with Jesus? Forgive me for asking...
Luke 14:28-30 “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, saying, ‘This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish." & Luke 9:62 Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”
